How to Support Your Anxious Teen: A Parent’s Toolkit to Adolescence
About this Event
Is your adolescent often overwhelmed, withdrawn, irritable, or stuck in a cycle of overthinking? You're not alone—and neither are they. Anxiety is one of the most common mental health challenges faced by teens today, and it can affect everything from their sleep to school performance to relationships at home.
In our practical workshop, "How to Support Your Anxious Teen in 2025 and Beyond: A Parent’s Toolkit to Adolescence" we’ll explore how anxiety shows up in teens and what you can do to help them feel safe, heard, and understood. You’ll learn simple, research-backed strategies that strengthen your relationship and build emotional resilience—without trying to “fix” your child or push them too hard.
Whether your teen has a diagnosis or you're just noticing signs of anxiety, this workshop will give you a grounded, hopeful approach to parenting through the hard moments.
You'll Learn:
-
What anxiety looks like in adolescents and how it differs from adults
-
Common triggers and how to reduce them at home and school
-
How to respond when your teen is panicking, shutting down, or avoiding
-
Communication tips to reduce conflict and increase trust
-
Tools to help your teen build self-regulation and coping skills
-
When to seek professional help—and how to support treatment at home
By the end, you’ll:
Feel more confident navigating anxious moments with your teen, know how to create an environment that supports emotional safety, and leave with tools to strengthen your connection while empowering them to manage their own mental health—one step at a time.
