Do you feel like no matter what you say, your adolescent just won’t listen—or does the opposite? You’re not alone, and it can be incredibly frustrating. That's why we created the "How to Get My Adolescent to Follow Directions" workshop!. It will give you real, practical tools that actually work—and make parenting feel a lot less like a battle.
Rather than repeating what you already know, in this 45-minute workshop we’ll guide you through why your adolescent pushes back—and how to respond with strategies that build connection, not conflict. It's Designed to help parents and caretakers to navigate these challenging moments with empathy, clarity, and confidence. We'll explore how to build an environment of mutual respect, where communication is clear and consistent, and expectations are reasonable and well understood. You’ll learn:
- Why adolescents resist direction—and how to respond effectively.
- Communication techniques that foster cooperation, not conflict.
- How to set clear expectations and follow through consistently.
- The power of positive reinforcement and patience in shaping behavior.
By the end of the session, you'll have practical tools to strengthen your connection with your adolescent and encourage more cooperation at home.

Inventiveminds provides Family Law Mediation Services, I.B. International School, Early Years Childcare (Montessori), Parent and Youth Support Therapy, and community services for new moms. Parenting courses related to children include Aid Services and Mediation, Separation, and Divorce.
